Yolanda Simeoni (Filice)
November 8, 1931 – May 31, 2022
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Yolanda Simeoni (Filice). Yolanda was predeceased by her beloved daughter Norma Fortino; father, Emilio Filice and beloved mother, Erminia Filice; her loving brother Peter (Anna) and sister Pasqualina (Antonio). She is survived by her sister Virginia Filice (Frank), her daughter Anna Caba, her grandchildren Paul Fortino (Patricia), Michael Fortino (Joanne), Christopher Yovani Caba and Andrea Yolanda Caba, her great-grandchildren, Milenia, Gianpaolo and Tatiana Fortino, Evan and Juliana Fortino, Maya and Elijah Caba-Daniels.
Yolanda had a fierce fighting spirit which carried her through the most trying of times, as well as a beautiful smile that would warm your heart. It was always a pleasure to spend time with family and friends, whether it was a holiday gathering or casual socializing. Yolanda had a zest for life and a passion for travelling. She took pride in her Italian heritage and celebrated cultural festivals, food, dance and music.
She found great joy and comfort in gardening. Her claim to botanical success was the nurturing dialogue that she would extend to her plants and flowers. We often teased that she loved her plants more than us.
The family would like to thank the wonderful people who shared in Yolanda’s life journey and especially those who graciously cared for her and provided their dedicated love and support throughout the final months of her life.
By the Grace of God, where there was suffering, there is now peace and light. Rest now Yolanda. You are together again with your precious daughter Norma, enjoying the beautiful sounds of music. God Bless you and we love you always and forever.
